Physiologically-based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) Modeling

PBPK modelling allows to investigate mechanistically the fate of a compound in a biological system. Our outstanding population PK/PD modeling and simulation expertise combined with PBPK modelling techniques allows us to offer a variety of high-value, end-to-end solutions for our customers.

PBPK models combine prior knowledge of the system with compound specific information to describe and predict the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) properties of a drug. That way PBPK models facilitate interspecies transposition and extrapolation from tested to untested scenarios. This makes PBPK modelling to a most valuable tool for learn and confirm driven drug development as featured in current regulatory guidelines.
PBPK modelling is especially useful to manage and predict drug drug interactions, accelerate formulation development, inform dosing for special populations and much more.

Exprimo uses the Open Systems Pharmacology Suite containing different software tools ( PK-SimĀ® and MoBiĀ® ) and having been designed using a modular concept to allow efficient multi-scale modeling and simulation.
